    B.F.A. Program


    A student must meet the following requirements to receive the Bachelor degree of Fine

    Arts from Taipei National University of the Arts:

     
    Earn a total of 130 credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of at least 60;

    Fulfill the core requirements;

    Earn the final 60 upper-division credit hours at DFA. A grade of “60” is the minimum

       grade a student must receive in required courses in the major and minor field of study;


    Complete the requirements for one of the majors;

    Complete the TNUA exit survey for assessment.

    M.F.A. Program (Fine Arts)

    Major of Study: Chinese Ink Painting (水墨) / Painting (繪畫)

    Multi-media (複合媒體) / Printmaking (版畫) / Sculpture (雕塑)
     
    Total Credits required: 43 Credits(108學年度起適用)
     
    Requirements for Degree:
     
    1. A graduation solo exhibition is required, which must be presented with a
        written report.
     
    2. Fulfill all the requirements and selective courses, earned the minimum number
        of credits required for graduation (including credits earned during the semester of
        degree application), and met all other requirements specified by the school.

    Total Credits required: 31 Credits

    Requirements for Degree:

    1. A master thesis is required.

    2.Fulfill all the requirements and selective courses, earned the minimum number 
      of credits required for graduation (including credits earned during the semester of 
      degree application), and met all other requirements specified by the school.

    Requirements for Degree :


    1.  Students must fulfill all degree requirements within 2 to 5 years.


    2. A graduation solo exhibition is required, which must be presented with a
        written report.


    3. Fulfill all the requirements and selective courses, earned the minimum number 
        of credits required for graduation (including credits earned during the semester of 
        degree application), and met all other requirements specified by the school.

    Ph.D. Program

    Total Credits required: 24 Credits

    Requirements for Degree
     


    1.  A minimum of 24 credits is required for graduation from the doctoral program.
    2.  Conditions for doctoral degree:

          (A).Doctoral Dissertation Outline Approval (including preliminary oral examination): 
                Upon completion of 24 credits and obtaining permission from advising professor, 
                the student may submit thesis outline for approval and take the preliminary oral
                examination.

         (B).Doctoral Candidate Qualifying Examination:
    After obtaining approval for the
               doctoral thesis outline and providing proof of
     language proficiency, the student
               may take the doctoral qualifying written examiation to become a candidate for
               the doctoral degree.

     
         (C).Doctoral Dissertation and Defense: The student must pass the qualifying writte
                examination and satisfy one of the two requirements below in order to hold a
                dissertation defense.

     
              a. Publication of two papers in academic journals after starting the program.
                   (The  papers must be peer reviewed, be over 10,000 characters in length,
                   may not overlap with the doctoral thesis in part or in whole, and may not
                  contain rewritten material from the candidate's masters thesis.)

              b. Publication of one paper in an academic journal, and participation in an
                 applied
     research project. (Refer to the project submission requirements
                 stipulated in 
    Promoting a Lecturer to Assistant Professor, located in the
                 Criteria for University 
    Teaching Qualification.)

        following:

        (A).a thesis; a creative work along with a written report;

        (B).a performance along with a written report; a technical report.

     
    2. Must have completed all required courses, earned the minimum number of credits
      
        required for graduation (including credits earned during the semester of degree
       
        application), and met all other requirements specified by the school.
